Tour Plan

Day 01 Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Hidroelectrica – Aguas Calientes.

Pick up between 7:00 to 7:30 a.m. then we leave from Cusco to travel 6 and ½ hours by mini bus to arrive in Hidroeléctrica; in the way we will stop two times, first in Ollantaytambo (10 or 15 minutes) where you will have time to buy water or snacks, then we will go up to Malaga Pass where you will find a beautiful landscape of the Highland área with snow peaks mountain, then we’ll go down by the high jungle passing by small villages as Santa Maria and Santa Teresa, here is our second stop (40 minutes) for having lunch, after we continue to arrive in Hidroelectrica, from this place we start to hike 2 and ½ hours (mostly flat walk) to arrive in Aguas Calientes (Town of Machupicchu), from Hidroelectrica also you have the option to take a train to arrive in Aguas Calientes in 25 minutes, this train has an extra Price of US$ 31.00 each way (95% of people go walking); once you arrive in town you will have a shot free time to rest or to visit the hot spring (entrance fee for hot pool s/ 15.00); after dinner you will have a briefing about the next day where you will have details about the Machu Picchu tour.

Day 02 Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Hidroeléctrica – Cusco.

At 4:30 am. We start to go up to Machu Picchu, this will be one hour and 40 minutes hike (20 minutes downhill and one hour and 20 minutes uphill by steps) also you have the option to go up by bus if you don’t want to walk (25 minutes – extra cost US$ 12 each way), the first bus departures at 5:30 a.m, any way, if you go walking or by bus you will meet with the tour guide and the group at the only gate of Machu Picchu around 6:20 or 6:30 a.m. to start a guiding tour, this information tour will last 2 hours approximately and it will be around the main places of this marvelous archaeological site, icon places as the classical place to take the famous picture of Machu Picchu, temple of the sun, the main plaza, Intiwatana, The Condor´s temple, water mirror sector and so on; after this guiding tour you will have free time to explore by your own until 11:00 Hrs (Total stay in the park 5 hours) after we have to start to walk back to Hidroelectrica (03 hours) where we will take the bus at 15:00hrs.to come back to Cusco (21:30 hrs.)

OPTIONAL:

Extra Night in accommodation in Aguas Calientes US$ 13.00 (only room) this allow you stay a hole day in Machupicchu on second day then go back to sleep a second night in Aguas Calientes and come back on third day to Cusco in the same time (there is not transportation before or after); this is a good option for those who would like to climb Huaynapicchu Mountain or Machupicchu Mountain (These are extra hikes of 2 and a half and 3 and a half hours, you can choose only one of them, any of those have an extra cost of US$ 15.00).
